Glory Be

getting another down for posterity.  We're at church On February 7, 2016 (Transfiguration Sunday)  and during the children's sermon the pastor makes a short prayer, "Dear Lord, GLORY BE!"  and Jack says quite loudly, "Short but Beautiful."  And the congregation cracks up.

Need to get this one down for posterity . . . So we were at church for cub scout recognition (so a church we don't usually attend) and Children's time comes around.  So Jack goes up front.  This is during the Sochi games so the pastor asks all of the kids to tell him their favorite event.  Jack chimes in, "Oh, I like the one where they have skiing with rifles."  Praise the Lord!

A Dancer is Born

The state troppers visited Ava's preschool today to talk to her class.   She's front and center in the brown coat.  :)

Jack was being his usual-helpful-big-brother-self and gave Ava a dollop of toothpaste on her brush.  Then he shows Ava his big-boy brush and says, "See this Ava?  These are criss-cross bristles they remove up to 90% of plaque."

Potty training

So we're potty training.  The other day Ava made a poopie in the potty; YEAH!!!! . . . Then she turned around, looked and said, "It look like ah teddy bear."  Hooray for potty training and Hooray for poop jokes!

 So on her way from pre-school to the playground she runs into a bench (cheek) on her way back she falls and hits her head on the sidewalk (forehead).  Poor Monkey.

Sometimes When the heat turns on Jack yells for Ava, they run to the dining room and sit on the vents! Too funny.

Jack won 1st place today at the Cub Scout pinewood derby. We're so proud of Jack and Daddy!

Christmas Morning Quotes

1. When Jack saw the tree and stockings on Christmas morning he looked at me and said "Mommy, it's everything I hoped for!"
2. After opening some gifts he said "Mommy, Christmas isn't about the presents, what's important is being with family"  I know he might have been just saying this for my benefit, or repeating something he's heard on a Christmas special but it still made my heart smile.
3. While we were laying down watching TV together he said "Mommy this is the best Christmas ever!"  
4. A couple of days later he told me that he wished he could go into a time machine to return to Christmas morning.    Too cute right?

Jack's 7th Birthday

Jack turned 7 this month!   Mommy took the day off work and volunteered in his class.   Spending an hour in computer lab with 23 1st graders gave me a renewed appreciation for teachers everywhere!   In the afternoon I returned with cupcakes.  Jack was thrilled to hand them out to his classmates.   It also happened to be PJ day, in case you all are wondering why I let my son go to school in his pajamas. ;)

Gingerbread House Creation

Ava and Jack made a gingerbread house.   Tons o' fun for all.   In the first pic you can see Jack and Ava taking turns eating the frosting out of the tube. LOL They were very sweet taking turns and being patient, so we let them continue.   In the second pic you can see how Mommy was able to be so relaxed and laid back as the entire kitchen table, floor and chairs were covered in frosting, candy pieces and crumbs. ;)   The house only lasted 24 hours before the kids insisted that we eat it.   Daddy, Jack and Ava devoured it as giggles filled the house.

We went to the portrait studio Thanksgiving weekend, it was a zoo and they took at least 50 shots, these are the best of them.

We got to tour our local firehouse with Jacks cub scout troop. The firefighters spent a lot of time explaining everything, they were great. Fun was had by all.

BEEP BEEP!

Jack and Ava love driving around the grocery store.   So nice of Jack to let Ava drive.   She yelled "beep beep" and the other shoppers and Jack grabbed stuff off the shelf.  Never a dull moment in motherhood.
